Kabuki vs. Rip Oliver

--- Early on, really loved the head scissors on Oliver since Oliver was actively working to try and escape. Having seen kabuki before, there are times when that opponent would have laid there for five minutes with Kabuki doing nothing. Loving the early feeling out process. Turns into a strike battle with Oliver using throat thrusts and choking him. Kabuki retuns the favor with his own throat thrusts and Kabuki ends it with a thrust kick to Oliver’s jaw to get the pin.

2nd fall, Cornette is attacked by Kabuki to start but Oliver attacks from behind and starts choking Kabuki with the bottom rope. With a close camera angle, this looked pretty cool. Oliver keeps working the neck with nerve holds and headlocks. Eh. Cool little pinning sequence form Oliver who has Kabuki in a headlock and hooks his leg and grabs the tights in a pin attempt. Kabuki fights back and hits some nice thrust kicks and some that whiffed air a bit. After a ref distraction, Cornette nails Kabuki with the racket allowing Oliver to take control. However, after Kabuki blocks a slingshot attempt, Oliver attempts to bring him in to the ring and Sunshine grabs the feet allowing Kabuki to fall on top for the pin.

Kabuki wins 2 straight falls. Shit, this wasn’t high end but this is the type of match we like to see on the set. A really good contest between guys who won’t be featured heavily on the set.

Interviews with: Iceman Parsons,

Sunshine-Cornette Confrontation – Cornette throws water on Sunshine. EXTRA

Gino vs. Kerry

--- Gino attacks Kerry from behind but Kerry takes over with a big clothesline. Giino plasy chickenshit heel while Kerry dominates him. There’s a clip in the middle that kind of fucked me up. Don’t really want to nominate something with a big clip. Huge brawl erupts after the match and that was pretty fun.

The Fantastics vs. Dynamic Duo

--- A lot of posturing to start off. The Duo attempt a double team early on and Rogers does a flip escape that looked pretty cool and forced the Duo to bail and regroup. Fantastics take over with their energy offense but eventually Rogers ends up as FIP. Really energetic match so far. Well shit, the match goes to commercial and it’s done.

Gino – Kevin confrontation

Gino vs. Kevin

Shit, Kevin comes in the ring in jeans and these guys go to town. Gino chokes Kevin and David Manning tries to break it up. Then Kevin chokes Gino and he tosses Manning. Adams comes running in and Kerry makes the save. This was a blast to watch and I am looking forward to the matches between these two teams. Might have to make this an EXTRA as well or a lead in to a more famous match.

Dynamic Duo vs. Kerry Von Erich & Kabuki (Dallas)

--- Kerry gets the best of Adams early on but Adams stuns Kerry with a sweet superkick that sends Kerry out to get his senses back. Adams ties to hit an axehandle outside but Kerry intercepts and get in the ring. However, Gino starts working Kerry over. However, Kabuki gets the tag and he ends up hitting his thrust kick on Adams to send him reeling outside. When it looks like Kabuki is going to take control, Adams hits a superkick on Kabuki to gain control. Badass. Now, they have Kabuki as FIP and Gino slows it down with a sleeper. I think the early Kabuki that soured me on him was due to him being a heel because he is a really convincing babyface. Kerry comes in but he also gets worked on by the Duo. I am not a real big Gino fan when he works singles but I love this tag team. It’s a kick fest as Kerry hits a kick to the abdomen so he can make the hot tag. Then Kabuki comes in with another thrust kick. All hell breaks loose, Kerry gets a sunset flip on Gino and gets the pin. Hot match. This is a nomination from where I stand. I hope you guys nominated it.
