Posted May 24, 201015 yr comment_5451227 Stretcher Match: Abdullah the Butcher vs. Mighty Zulu (9/15/86) This is nothing but a brawl featuring Zulu pounding Abby with the house mic so hard that he ripped the wires out of it with Abby being a bloody mess. Zulu beats Abby enough that they try to put him on the stretcher but he rolls off. Abby breaks out the white stick and he starts pounding on Zulu including dropping a big elbow on the floor but Zulu gets up throwing the stretcher away. The fight returns to the ring with Abby continuing dropping his elbows before Abby locks on his nerve hold putting Zulu to sleep and they put Zulu on a stretcher carrying him out of the ring. This was a wild bloody brawl which may have been one of the best matches of Zulu's career so fuck I'm throwing it up for consideration.
June 4, 201015 yr comment_5451599 Mighty Zulu vs. Abdullah the Butcher - Is Zulu Ron Pope who worked San Francisco? There were some really fun parts like zulu thumping the mic on Abby’s head. Then there were some really bad parts… like Zulu picking up a chair or his delayed selling after getting hit and forgetting which way to fall. You gotta give Abby points for bumping big and trying hard but Zulu really, really sucks. No vote.
June 4, 201015 yr Author comment_5451614 Zulu is Ron Pope yes and that is what made this match so good because he was one of the worst wrestlers ever and his performance here was probably the best of his career plus you had Abby being Abby. It's nothing I would fight to the death for but it was pretty fun for what it was.
June 26, 201015 yr comment_5452399 I should give Zulu this much: what he lacks in execution, he makes up for - in this match if not in any other - in conviction. In this and their previous brawl, I don't buy that Zulu can kick Abby's ass, because his execution of even the most basic of moves sucks so bad. But I do buy that he's trying really, really hard to kick Abby's ass, and that ends up making this match work for me. God bless Abby. He did everything in his power to make Zulu look competent, and it mostly worked. Mostly. I want to co-sign the nomination, but no one - myself included - is going to fight for this, so I don't suppose there'd be a point.
