Posted May 26, 201015 yr comment_5451325 All Japan Pro Wrestling (April 16 1989) 1. Toshiaki Kawada & Fuyuki vs Johnny Smith & Jerry Oates - Nothing really memorable here. Smith hit a nice superplex. 2. Ricky Steamboat vs Shinnichi Nakano - Nakano was a bad opponent for Steamboat, because his offense was bland and when Ricky allowed himself to be controlled by it, he looked like a pussy. Weird that the fucking world champ was shoved in a match like this. 3. Road Warrior Hawk & Genichiro Tenyru vs George Takano & Isao Takagi - Takano and Tenryu fired off some decent exchanges, but once Hawk and Tenryu isolated Takagi, it turned into a squash. 4. Road Warrior Animal, Johnny Ace & Terminator vs Jumbo & Yoshiaki Yatsu & Great Kabuki - Ahh, Animal and his little bro. The basic story was that Animal dominated when he was in the ring but the natives dominated when Ace or Terminator were in. I was a little surprised when Animal caught Kabuki one-on-one in the end scramble and got the win. I figured it was a mismatch the other way. Anyhow, it wasn't a standout match.
