All Japan Pro Wrestling (April 23 & April 30 1989)

 

1. Masa Fuchi vs Shinnichi Nakano - Reviewed on Classics.

 

2. Jumbo Tsuruta vs Stan Hansen - Reviewed on Classics.

 

3. Toshiaki Kawada & Fuyuki vs Tom Zenk & Dan Kroffat - Reviewed on Classics

 

4. Genichiro Tenryu vs Doug Furnas - Furnas got off some his flashy offense -- the dropkicks, powerslam -- and got to kick out of a powerbomb. But I got the sense that Tenryu could cut him off whenever he felt like it. He showed superb timing on an enzuigiri to the face of a charging Furnas. And then he won it with a Hansen-style lariat to the top of Furnas' head. I guess his new partner was rubbing off on him. Cool flashes of offense aside, this didn't have the intensity or story to stand out.
