"Hollywood" John Tatum vs. Cowboy Scott Casey (9/2/85)

Tatum is awesome here bumping and selling his ass off for quite a long time to start the match with Casey looking solid also. Tatum gets some offense in

nothing spectacular just pounding on Casey but he would miss a running smash into the ropes taking a header to the floor allowing Casey to make a comeback.

It would turn into a slugfest with Casey breaking out european uppercuts and backhand strikes before getting a nearfall with a powerslam. Casey would get an

O'Connor Roll but Tatum would cut it back using the tights to get the win in a fun match. I'm throwing this one on the block as both men were pretty solid

here.

John Tatum vs. Scott Casey 9/2/85 (McAdam 1437 Disc 2)

- Funny spot early on as Tatum puts both feet on the ropes but Casey breaks the full nelson and drops Tatum flat. They work in and out of a Casey armbar. Tatum gets frustrated at being dominated. When Tatum takes control, he unloads some nasty offense including rubbing his knee across Casey’s face and standing on Casey’s neck when Casey is draped in the corner over the 2nd rope. Tatum makes a mistake when running toward sCasey landing him outside. Casey takes control after catching a Tatum boot. Then Casey just KILLS Tatum with a punch off an Irish whip. That was SICK. Casey tries to put Tatum out several times but after a roll up, Tatum reverses to pull off the victory. Another great match between these two, of course this goes on the set.

We don't get as much Tatum comedy as one would like. What we do get is Tatum bumping around like a bowling pin and both men being really aggressive on offense. A bit of a change of pace from their other matches, and a reminder that Tatum was more than just a great stooge. This moves forward.
