Gang would work a nerve hold though ala Kamala but it wasn't too long before the brawl would get back going. Brody would break out the chair and jabbed Gang in the throat with it as the crowd goes nuts then hits Gang with a dropkick after he enters the ring before dropping the King Kong Kneedrop. Gary Hart would run in though for the DQ and Gang would break out the chain to choke out Brody then pounded on him after the match but Brody would make his own comeback until Hart attacked Brody which would bring out Kerry to run them off. This was a tremendous brawl and a great post-match with the match going just over 5 minutes so I think this deserves a nomination.

Brody doesn’t really sell but they threw good punches. Unfortunately, Gang kills it with the dreaded nerve hold and Brody no sells some of Gang’s later punches after getting his ass kicked. Gang does sell for Brody however and takes some nice bumps. Brody is about to pin Gang but Hart comes in to break up the pin for the DQ. This had some good moments but damn, Brody sucks. Brody gets double teamed after the match until Kerry makes the save. No vote. I need blood and no nerve holds for me to get behind a Brody match.
June 25, 201015 yr comment_5452397 Overall, I think this set redeems Brody slightly. He seemed more willing to actually sell for his opponents when he was in Texas, particularly in these final years. This match, for some reason, is an exception, as Gang just waylays him, and Brody barely even notices. I am not nearly as anti-nervehold as Will, and it wasn't used for too long, but on a certain level, that may have been the single worst nervehold on these discs. On a certain level, I think nerveholds may be the purest form of pro wrestling. One guy grabs hold of part of the other guys body. He is doing nothing that would even remotely cause physical pain. Stripped of any "real" aspects, the nervehold relies entirely on the attacker's ability to convey that he's tearing into his opponent's flesh with his bare hands to apply pressure to very sensitive nerve bundles, and the victim's ability to convey that this realistically harmless gesture is in fact excruciatingly painful. Bruiser Brody gives an excellent demonstration of how not to work a nervehold in this match, as he sells it like...well, he doesn't sell it at all, really. Or anything else. Both guys laid into each other real good, but we don't need this.
