Disc 1

Dynamic Duo vs. Kerry von Erich & Brian Adias

- Long shine segment on Adams until Kerry mises a charge in the corner and the Duo takes over. This seems like the match that you guys nominated with the transitional superkick but the faces certainly didn’t rush the ring. However, there was the long sleeper segments from Gino and Chris on Kerry until Kerry throws Adams outside. Adias tags in and cleans house until he kills my enthusiasm with a front facelock. However, he gets put into the heel corner and the heels double team him. Nice work by the heels to keep me interested and the Adias comeback was fun with a nasty dropkick to Adams. Kerry gets the tag and has the claw on Gino but all four men are in the ring and after an assisted superkick, they try to cut Adias hair but Kerry makes the save. This was fun and a nomination but not a stone cold lock.

Mike Von Erich Press Conference after surgery - Christ, he looks bad. God bless him.

Recap of Scott Casey vs. John Tatum from Ft. Worth

John Tatum vs. Brian Adias

- The best part was Tatum talking to Missy or jawing with the fans. The match was nothing early on. Tatum takes a big bump to the outside and had some Terry Funk-esque selling on some Adias strikes. Anyway, Tatum gets a roll up after Adias was distracted by Missy.

Kerry Von Erich & Iceman Parsons vs. Mark Lewin & Jack Victory

- Ten bucks says Victory eats the pin. Anyway, nothing match here. However, there was some fun stuff before Ice rolls Victory up for the pin.

John Tatum vs. Bruiser Brody

- Oh shit, Tatum is taking control on Brody. Seriously, I don’t think Brody has given this much to anyone. Tatum chokes him, controls a headlock, jaws with the fans, escapes pin attempts. He even hammers Bruiser with some axehandles and gets him on his knees. Bruiser doesn’t really sell but you take what you can get. Nice sequence as a big boot causes Tatum to get tied up in the ropes. Bruiser charges with another boot to the face and ends it with the big knee. This was watchable almost all entirely to Tatum. Fuck Bruiser Brody.

Brian Adias – Gino Hernandez Recap

Chris Adams – Kevin Von Erich Recap

Iceman Parsons vs. One Man Gang

- Gang gets leveled early on with some punches from Ice but Hart & Gang complain about the taped fist so Manning has to remove the tape from Iceman’s wrist. Once the tape is gone, this becomes a squash. However, gang misses a splash and Gang gets floored after two butt bumps. Gang and Hart walk out on the match because Ice still had tape on the other hand.

Recap of a Six Man Tag

Kerry & Kevin Von Erich vs. Dynamic Duo

- . Nice section early on where Kevin has Adams in a head scissors but Adams rolls through to Gino for the tag while still in the scissors. Gino works over Kevin until he hits the tag after a Gino miss. Some good back and forth between the two teams but a little aimless until Kevin hits a body press on Gino but Adams comes in the ring with a belt to get the DQ. The match had me early on but after Kevin finally made the hot tag early on, it lost focus. No vote.

Disc 2

Rick Rude vs. Rick McCord

- Rude’s debut as Rude, not Rudd

Scott Casey vs. David Peterson

- Early on, Peterson shows Casey up with his strength but Casey is the one with the push. So, after Peterson dominates Casey most of the match, Casey gets a backslide for the win.

Scott Casey & Sunshine Interview

Recap of Missy/Tatum – Casey/Sunshine

Mike Von Erich at the Parade of Champions with his Rookie of the Year shirt / Fritz introduces Lance Von Erich and both of these go with the sleaze section. EXTRA

Kerry Von Erich & Iceman King Parsons vs. One Man Gang & Mark Lewin

- The man has no shot at a nomination. After Lewin and Gang have a miscommunication spot, Gang once to attack Lewin but Hart gets in his way and gets hammered. Gang gets hammered by Lewin and… the fucking tape cuts away. Hope this “extra” is shown in full on the copies you guys watched.

Kerry & Kevin Von Erich vs. Dynamic Duo (Parade of Champions)

- Good heel teamwork early on with Kevin working FIP. Great spot with Kevin hitting the stomach claw on Gino, Kerry stopping Adams coming in so Adams climbs the top and hits an axehandle to break the claw. Kerry comes in to a huge pop and kicks some ass. Adams turns the tide with a punch and a superkick. For shits and giggles, I put the superkick on slow motion and Kerry dropped before the kick connected but in regular time, it looked swank. Great heel work on Kerry and the crowd is hanging on to every move. Oh shit, after a brawl breaks out, Kevin gets thrown over and Adams delivers a sick kick to Kerry’s head. Then they throw powder in Kerry’s eyes. As Kerry gets his eyes washed out, the Duo works over Kevin. However, when they throw the powder in to Kevin, he ducks and Adams gets the powder while Kerry recovers and rolls up Adams for the pin. Of course, we get the classic head shaving. What a great match and I can see it somewhere in my Top 20.

Rick Rude & Percy Pringle Interview – Introduction vignette interview. Rude renames the DDT to the Rude Awakening.

Chris Adams vs. Kevin Von Erich

- Really loved Kevin working Adams over to untie the mask. Getting him in a sleep er and body vice looked good. I also loved all the work they did out of the head scissors as these two are so fluid together. When Adams takes control, he uses some tape to choke Kevin out and hits a superkick on Kevin while he is draped on the ropes. Sick. Bill Mercer sells the iron claw on the mask. Of course, the Duo pulls the switcheroo. I enjoyed the match but it wasn;t as good as some other matches I watched today. I won’t fight for it but I would call it a nomination. Maybe I need to watch the other matches between the two.

Dynamic Duo vs. Brian Adias & Iceman Parsons

- Decent tag but it isn’t comparable to the great matches I have watched recently.

Disc 3

Kerry Von Erich vs. Missing Link

- Really, a nothing match.

John Tatum vs. Scott Casey

- Ok match that ends with Casey catching Tatum on a roll-up. Tatum was fun here but I want to see the match that Kris watched to see if it was better than this one. Missy and Sunshine fight after the match.

Brian Adias vs. The Grappler

- This wasn’t lighting my world on fire. During the test of strength, Adias looked constipated. Early on, they work in and out of an Adias armbar. I have seen arm work before and this was merely acceptable. I understand the story they were telling, it just wasn’t a story I wanted to see. Grappler wins after putting the knees up when Adias went for a splash.

Kevin Von Erich Interview (Ft. Worth) – The Dynamic Duo interrupt and attack Kevin until Lance Von Erich makes the save.

One Man Gang vs. Kerry Von Erich

- This starts off HOT! Kerry unloads on Gang and sends him over the top rope with a dropkick. He follows up on Gang and Gang turns the tide by ramming his shoulder in the ring post. Kerry gets in and hooks on the claw and pulls Gang over the top rope with the claw applied. Gang gets his foot on the ropes for the save. Kerry whips Gang into the ringpost. What was cool is that most wrestlers get rammed inbetween the middle and top rope. Gang hits the ringpost leaping on the top rope. Kerry works on the arm, ducks a Gang clothesline and hits a big lariat of his own. OMG and Kerry take turns battling back and forth but OMG pulls the ref in the way of a Kerry punch and knocks him out. The two continue to battle until Rick Hazzard comes to and DQs the Gang. This was the best match I have seen between the two. NO definitive ending but I liked the way Gang threw the ref into harm’s way. Nomination.

Jack Victory vs. David Peterson

- Competitive match that ends in a time limit draw. This was ok but there was nothing that made it really stand out.

Missing Link & Rick Rude vs. Johnny Mantel & Brian Adias

- Another unremarkable tag where the guys did nothing that made it stand out against the best stuff I have seen. It is really hard to break through when the standard is Kerry & Kevin vs. The Dynamic Duo.

Gino Hernandez vs. Lance Von Erich

- Gino was pretty good but this was sloppy in parts. Plus, I am just not excited about seeing this match. At this point, you have to do better than ok to get a nomination. Good ending with Gino tied up in the ropes and Lance going for the mask. Gino breaks loose, and Lance twists the mask around and pins Gino on a weak roll-up.

The Grappler & Missing Link vs. Dave Peterson & Johnny Mantel (Reunion Arena)

- Another decent match. Standout spot was Link destroying Mantel’s back with repeated headbutts.

Killer Tim Brooks vs. Lance Von Erich

- Brooks is down with a sleeper in a matter of minutes.

Rick Rude vs. Iceman Parsons

- This is the abbreviated, not as good version of their title change. Rude isn’t doing the back work form the 2/3 falls match but it has the same result. Rude wins in an ok match.
