Posted May 31, 201015 yr comment_5451484 Going through stuff I haven't seen. American Heavyweight Title: "Ravishing" Rick Rude © vs. "Modern Day Warrior" Kerry Von Erich (12/13/85) This is a rare Rude/Kerry singles match and we get Kerry posing like Rude before the match which was funny but not as funny as Pringle calling Kerry "horseface." The match would really get going when Kerry missed a running knee into the corner allowing Rude to work over the right knee setting up for the figure-four leglock. Kerry would get free though and put a figure-four of his own on Rude before going for the iron claw that Rude would break out of so Kerry would hit him with the discus punch. Kerry went for the pin but Rude put his foot on the ropes and as he argued with David Manning, Rude snuck in and hit his DDT on Kerry to beat him cleanly in the middle of the ring. This was a solid match and I'm throwing it on the block. The Missing Link vs. Jack Victory (12/25/85) Jack pinballed around for Link here and was squashed. Rude then attacks Link with a chair after the match before Sunshine would come out spraying stuff in Rude's eyes and Link would attack Pringle before he get to her. American Tag Titles: The Dynamic Duo ("Gentleman" Chris Adams & "Handsome Halfbreed" Gino Hernandez) © vs. Kerry & Kevin Von Erich (12/25/85) Kerry & Kevin wear their Cosmic Cowboys hoods before the match but rip them off before entering the ring as the fans go nuts. Kerry is also working barefoot here since he & Kevin were supposed to look alike. Adams would catch Kerry with a Superkick over the top rope to start the match but Kerry would fire back with discus punches on both Chris & Gino and this match is on. This was the blowoff match of a year long feud that produced some of the best matches and overall heat in this whole set and this match does that justice. All four men were on point here doing what they do best with a molten hot crowd. Gino would refuse an Adams tag so eventually a pissed off Adams threw Kevin over the top rope to the floor for the DQ then he got into it with Gino after the match decking him with Gino saying that he couldn't tag in because his was hurt. Was it a cheap finish, yeah, but it made sense with the storyline that was coming and it didn't hurt this match in the slightest as this was completely awesome. Slam dunk nomination.
