2 out of 3 falls: The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal & Jack Victory (3/3/86)

Fants take forever to get in the ring as they hug and kiss all the women at ringside even getting some flowers which Regal grabs from Fulton and hits him with them but the Fants would force the heels to run out of the ring. Fants looked good in the first fall on the offensive and their opponents were up to the task to sell and bump for them in the best way possible. Then the heels got some offense on both and this first fall was longer than most matches in World Class. Fulton was really good as the FIP and Rogers came in fired up and had Victory in an O'Connor Roll but Regal would grab him and threw him over the top rope for the DQ to end the fall. The second fall featured more of the same good action of the first fall with Regal & Victory being pretty damn good as a team having some solid chemistry together and I think this was the first time they ever teamed up. This fall had a fantastic finish as Regal had Rogers up for a suplex and Fulton threw Victory into Regal which forced him to drop Rogers over Victory's back and he hooked him in a schoolboy to win the match 2-0. I loved this match as it was four men working their ass off at a fast pace and having good chemistry together. This is an easy nomination.

Right now, I am sort of mixed on the Fantastics. I like thier act and I loved them on Mid South. However, to get on my happy list, the match really has to stand out and I need the heels to bring something fresh to the table. Early on, the Fans maintain control with arm bars on both heels and they aren't really doing any of the cool double team stuff we are accustomed to early on. Great heel miscommunication though. Heels take control after Fulton misses a dropkick. And the heels take over. Freaking Jack Victory yanks Fulton by the golden locks and slams him to the mat... I am used to seeing that shit in joshi matches. Ah shit, Jack gets caught throwing Tommy Rogers over the top rope and gets DQed to end the first fall. 2nd fall, they take over on Tommy Rogers and work the back capitalizing on the spill outside. He gets the hot tag and as Fulton is doing a monkey flip in the corner, Regal runs over and punches him in the mouth to give the momentum back to the heels. The end run where the Fans get the pin looked fucking sweet. As I said earlier, the heels brought the pain and there were enough memorable moments to easily move this forward. I thought the first fall could have ended differently but it cost the heels two straight falls in the end.

Tommy getting that little girl in the front row to wave at the camera was cute. The Fantastics may use the "fake tag while the referee isn't looking" spot more than any actual heel team I've ever seen. It also makes their actual false tag later in the match seem a bit off. Still, minor quibbles aside, this was a great match with a heel team that could dish out a beating after some great initial stooging, and who got the Fans plenty fired up. This moves forward.
