Posted June 3, 201015 yr comment_5451542 World Class Six-Man Tag Titles: The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy, Michael Hayes, & Buddy Roberts) vs. Kerry, Kevin, & Lance Von Erich (3/17/86) Gordy is bandaged up from his brawl with Brody earlier. Kevin would hit a flying dropkick off the top rope on Buddy right after the match starts and it sets the pace for this war. Lance is in the ring a lot here early on both giving and taking punishment before tagging in a fired up Kerry who nails Buddy with a discus punch and when he goes to tag no one wants in but Gordy would soon oblige. This ended up being just an awesome match with everyone being on top of their game and working their ass off. The finish was great too as Kerry had Roberts in an O'Connor Roll before Gordy went over and just destroyed him with a lariat with Buddy rolling on him to keep the titles. Like I said, this was an awesome match and a definite nomination.
June 6, 201015 yr comment_5451665 Another big disconnect between Kris and I. I thought that at this stage of the game, there was nothing memorable besides Gordy wearing a bandage. There were not enough memorable moments and way too much Lance Von Erich for me to move this forward. The lariat at the end was cool but the sequence leading up to it was really awkward. No vote.
June 25, 201015 yr comment_5452382 I'm somewhere between the two of you, leaning closer to Kris. I thought Lance was fine here as FIP, eating a lot of great Freebird offense. Loved Gordy working the abdominal stretch early on, and brought the big piledrivers and lariats later. I'll second the nomination, but with the caveat that since we have a lot of Von Erichs/Freebirds matches picked out already that are as good or better than this, this may not be essential.
