Posted June 4, 201015 yr comment_5451596 McAdam 2152 Disc 2 Buzz Sawyer vs. Mark Youngblood (Fort Worth) - Like the Adams match, Youngblood works Buzz’s arm after he rams it into the ringpost. Unfortunately they don’t work in and out of the arm work as good as the Adams match. Same strategy and story but the execution isn’t as good. Hell, Buzz even bites Youngblood’s leg… but Youngblood doesn’t break the hold. Idiot. Little things like that make the difference. Weird how Buzz tells the same match as the Adams match but this match sucked and that one ruled. Mike, Lance & Kevin Von Erich Interview – Damn, Mike is out of it. And Kevin calls Mike a “tiger out of his tank” Abdullah the Butcher vs. Killer Tim Brooks (Fort Worth) - Typical Abby match. Abdullah and Kabuki have a stand-off after the match and Kabuki attacks Gary Hart. Chris Adams Interview Buzz Sawyer & Matt Borne Interview Bruiser Brody Interview – Brody is carrying a shovel and wearing a cowboy hat. EXTRA Batten Twins vs. The Grapplers (Fort Worth) - Only intros. Oh well, I had a good run before the cuts reared their ugly head. Gary Hart Interview Rick Rude & Raven Interview Blackjack Mulligan Interview Rick Rude, Matt Borne & Blackjack Mulligan vs. Bruiser Brody, Kevin & Lance Von Erich (Captain’s Match) - They try to have the audience choose the captain…. And TV time runs out. Mark Youngblood vs. The Assassin - Youngblood wins Sunshine Interview – Goddamm, that hair never gets old. Sunshine is looking rough. Blackjack Mulligan-Bruiser Brody Confrontation Batten Twins vs. The Grapplers (Dallas) - Maybe we’ll get a complete match. I was hoping that the 1st fall of the Jerry Allen match was a foreshadowing of things to come. So far, the Battens are really generic in this match. The Grapplers are nothing special in this match either. So much potential… so disappointing. Rick Rude vs. Chris Adams - Adams starts it off right throwing Rude out on the floor and beating his ass. Inside, Adams tries a splash and Rude moves to take over. Rude has some nice offense but locks in a chinlock to kill my good vibe. Then he comes off with a nice forearm from the 2nd rope. Rude held on to the chinlock for way too long but Adams wakes me up with a NICE superkick and a piledriver. Rude is saved by the ropes. Adams hits a 2nd kick. Adams goes to the top but Pringle shakes the ropes with his cane and Adams falls and gets pinned. The post-match was and Adams hits a 3rd AWESOME superkick. Man, I am torn on the nomination since the beginning and end were hot but Rude really killed me in the middle with the looooong chinlock. Gary Hart Interview Buzz Sawyer vs. Steve Simpson (Fort Worth) - Simpson frustrates Buzz early on. First with the headlock, then with some amateur mat stuff and refusing to shake Sawyer’s hand. After a body press, Buzz goes outside to regroup. Inside, he is still trying to shake the hand. Not as good as the Adams match but already better than the Youngblood match. Simpson is clinging to the headlock religiously but they do enough inbetween headlocks to put this way above Adias level. Buzz gets Simpson on the corner and bites his ear to get him to break the headlock. Great. Simpson reverses an Irish whip only to meet Buzz’s boot. Good stuff. Buzz misses a splash and Simpson back to the headlock. Sawyer ends up taking over and working on Simpson’s back with the bearhug. The problem is that he works it for so long with little movement from Simpson and you can tell these guys are going to a draw. Sawyer does some cool stuff like biting Simpson’s face again and working in a camel clutch but Simpson comes alive in the last minute after 5 minutes of inactivity. That Sawyer control section really hurt the match. Of course it ends in a twenty minute draw. You guys should watch this but I don’t think it warrants a nomination since Simpson wasn’t nearly as effective as Adams. Percy Pringle Interview
