Posted November 28, 200816 yr comment_5436042 Maniac Matt Borne, The Great Kabuki & “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer vs. Bruiser Brody, Steve Simpson, & Lance Von Erich (6/27/86) The heels were great here even Kabuki who folded up Simpson with a backdrop suplex. Simpson was good in his role here as fiery babyface who gets his ass kicked with Borne & Sawyer being happy at doing the asskicking. Lance then came in and took a pounding as well as the heels were pretty ruthless here but would tag Simpson back in after Buzz missed a running shoulderblock into the ringpost and it wouldn’t be long before Simpson would get his ass kicked again. There was a badly botched neckbreaker spot with Kabuki & Simpson that they had to redo. Lance would get the hot tag and cleaned house on everyone and it would break down into a 6-way brawl and as this happened Lance got an O’Connor Roll on Buzz while Borne came in with Buzz’s chain and clotheslined him for the win. I liked this quite a bit and I’m throwing it on the block.
November 30, 200816 yr comment_5436068 11. Bruiser Brody, Lance Von erich, + Steve Simpson vs Matt Borne, Buzz Sawyer, + Kabuki There was some good wresling here. I thought that Sawyer and Borne were great at making this match. Their are so many great 6 mans from this area that I'm going to not give this a nomination. Though I did like it.
June 4, 201015 yr comment_5451598 Buzz Sawyer, Matt Borne & Kabuki vs. Bruiser Brody, Lance Von Erich & Steve Simpson - The heels tried to make Brody the FIP but that doesn’t bode well. Brody tags in Simpson and he is better at getting his ass kicked. Nice sequence as Buzz leapfrogs Simpson, taunts the crowd, turns and gets nailed with a dropkick and lands on the outside. Sawyer does all of his signature moves here with running into the ringpost, biting the guy in the face. Borne is absolutely vicious in his attack on Simpson. He gives him a snap belly-to-belly followed by a deathdrop driver five years beforeDoc would do it. Simpson tries to fight back but the heels keep cutting him off. He finally tags Lance after Buzz misses from the rope. A brawl breaks out, Lance rolls Sawyer up but Borne clotheslines Lance with a chain for the heels to pick up the win. I had fun watching this and liked it much more than the Mulligan six man. Nomination. McAdam 2152 Disc 3

June 20, 201015 yr comment_5452176 I rewatched this and the Mulligan tag, and I actually ended up liking both matches better than I did the first time around. I would support this as a low-end nomination, but I still think the Mulligan tag is considerably better. The whole isn't necessarily the sum of it's parts, but I'm gonna break it down, anyway.... Brody & Simpson vs. Kevin & Adams This one's kinda obvious. Kevin & Adams are way better than Brody and Simpson. Simpson was a fine FIP in this match, and Brody didn't do anything wrong, but Kevin & Adams were outright great, and Brody & Simpson just aren't going to compare to them. Borne & Sawyer vs. Rude & Mulligan This one's a little trickier. I think Rude gave the best performance of any of these four, and it probably goes without saying that Mulligan was the least of these four. That said, I wasn't as down on him as you were, and thought he did pretty much everything he could do considering how physically limited he was. Borne and Sawyer were great as usual delivering a beatdown on the faces, but I've seen them do stuff that's as good or better, so in a way, I think Mulligan's performance is more remarkable. I'll call this for Borne & Sawyer, but I kinda want to say it's a push. Kabuki vs. Kabuki I underrated Kabuki's performance in the Mulligan tag. He looked perfectly fine in a limited role there. Here, he looks actively bad. That neckbreaker botch was worse than anything Mulligan did, and his goofy martial arts offense looked even more feathery soft than normal. Personally, I'd rather watch Kabuki sink in a nervehold for an hour on a guy who can really sell it convincingly than watch his gentle kung foolery. At least a nervehold I buy as something that would be uncomfortable, if not necessarily debilitating. Here, he does a rolling sobat that doesn't look like it would hurt a butterfly. Mulligan Kabuki in a walk. Lance vs. Lance I think this may be the one comparison where this match has the clear advantage. Lance is pretty good in the Mulligan tag, but here I think he's carrying the load for his team. Best looking offense of the faces, and I liked his FIP section better than Simpson's. He's in a more limited role in the Mulligan tag, though he works well there, too. So, yeah...Borne and Sawyer do some strong work, the faces at least show up (Lance moreso than the others), and Kabuki kinda sucks. The action here is strong enough to merit my support, and I'm fine with this being on the set, but I stand by the Mulligan tag as being much better.
