Posted June 7, 201015 yr comment_5451699 "Modern Day Warrior" Kerry Von Erich vs. The Great Kabuki (3/21/83) Kabuki takes control early with his strikes and nerve hold but Kerry would come back and as this was going on, Yatsu would come out and nailed Kabuki with his kendo stick allowing Kerry to get the win. This was very short. Next is stuff I've seen. Kamala vs. Ken Mantell (5/16/83) Total squash. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin vs. Kevin Von Erich (5/9/83) Garvin is wearing solid blue tights here which is odd for him at this stage and Lowrance talking about Sunshine's very tight pants is funny. This is one of their first matches so the hatred they would have later on hasn't blossomed yet. Kevin is solid here early with some good matwork and a sweet standing dropkick to Garvin's face then would get a nearfall with his diving body press. Kevin would get Garvin in a sleeper so Garvin would signal for Sunshine to get on the apron so he can throw him over the top rope but Kevin would skin the cat and got an O'Connor Roll for the win. Sunshine then got in Kevin's face so he kissed her which pissed off Garvin as he roughs her up with Lowrance saying that her knees got weak when she was kissed. Match was just okay but the angle afterwards is a definite extra. Then stuff I've seen. Kevin Von Erich vs. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin (8/8/83) Kevin is nuts here going after Garvin in this non-title match and he attacks Garvin before he can get in the ring. Garvin pinballs all over the ring here taking punishment but he would miss his diving body press and landed on the ropes giving Garvin the chance he needed to regroup. Sunshine would throw Garvin her shoe but Kevin would get an O'Connor Roll to get the win then used the shoe to get rid of Garvin. This went just over 3 minutes but it was fun. "Modern Day Warrior" Kerry Von Erich vs. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin (8/29/83) Hayes does color commentary here. This was a damn good match but TV time would run out before the finish which sucked because it was on it's way to a nomination. American Heavyweight Title: "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin © vs. Kevin Von Erich (9/5/83) Again another match which was heading to a nomination but TV time would run out.
