Posted June 13, 201015 yr comment_5451901 This show starts with Wendell Cooley coming out talking about his match with Adrian Street the previous week which was non-title but Street would win and walk out with the belt anyway. Cooley then vowed revenge and wanted his belt back. The Bullet vs. El Fuego (6/23/86) Yep it's The Flame back as El Fuego. After being punched a few times, Fuego hemmed and hawwed so he could load up his mask which he would use to his advantage but not for long. Bullet would go for Fuego's mask when a random masked man showed up to interfere but Bullet got rid of him then brawled with Fuego all the way to entrance. The random masked man then tried for more but Bullet brought him back to the ring putting him to sleep before Fuego came back and threw a fireball. Fuego then went for Bullet's mask but Scott Armstrong would run them off with a steel chair. This was fun stuff and extra material. Then we would get promos from Bullet & Fuego. Jerry Stubbs would then cut a promo going over clips of him giving Frankie Lancaster a brainbuster on the floor trying to injure him. Continental Heavyweight Title: Jerry Stubbs © vs. Brad Armstrong (6/23/86) Stubbs makes sure early that Armstrong doesn't get the advantage and slows the pace down to his level doing what he had to do to also. Stubbs would pound Brad's head on the metal part holding the top rope to the post which caused him to juice giving Stubbs an extra motivation to work on that cut. Stubbs holding Brad by the hair and headbutting him 4 times was great but Brad would still fight back even covered in blood. Stubbs would get a nearfall after hitting him with a diving clothesline off the middle rope and as this happened Frankie Lancaster in a neckbrace distracted Stubbs and Brad would lock him in an inside cradle to get the win. Stubbs would tee off on Lancaster after the match but Brad would run him off with a steel chair. This went about 9 1/2 minutes and was very fun and yeah I would've liked a full Brad comeback but the angle made sense and this is still a nomination. This was followed by promos by a bloody Brad & Stubbs. "White Lightning" Tim Horner vs. Mike Fever (6/23/86) Spotlight match for Horner. Roy Lee Welch does commentary whining about not getting a match with Horner. This was followed up by promos from Cooley & Street. Southeastern Tag Titles vs. Studs Split Up: Steve Armstrong & "Wildfire" Tommy Rich © vs. "Luscious" Robert Fuller & "Gorgeous" Jimmy Golden (6/23/86) The Intern (Johnny Rich) is at ringside to counter Dr. Tom Prichard. This was a brawl at the bell but it wasn't long before it became a regular match. The faces were very strong early on using quick tags and timely double-teams to keep the heels where they wanted them but a missed elbow from the middle rope allowed the heels to shine on Rich. The heels really worked over Rich but for a short time until he got the hot tag to Steve who came in strong getting a sleeper on Golden and that's when the 4-way brawl started. Prichard would trip up Steve causing the Intern to brawl with him as the wrestlers were going fast and furious in the ring. Steve got Golden in a sleeper but Fuller would KO him with his loaded boot and Golden fell back on Steve to win the titles. This was about 6-7 minutes but it was all action with everyone working hard. This moves forward. This was followed up by promos from everyone involved in the previous match. Miss Linda would come out with the belt that Cooley wanted and of course it was the pink version of the Southeastern title pissing off Cooley. Steve Armstrong & "Wildfire" Tommy Rich vs. Snake Brown & The Invader (6/23/86) The faces coming out to Legs by ZZ Top was hilarious. Invader was the masked man who helped El Fuego on the last show. Spotlight match for the faces. Frankie Lancaster would come out in a neckbrace cutting a promo on Stubbs for trying to end his career. Then we would get promos by Stubbs, Brad, & Frankie. US Jr. Heavyweight Title: "White Lightning" Tim Horner © vs. Roy Lee Welch (6/23/86) This started out as a slugfest but Welch would soon take the advantage and went to work on Horner for a good amount of time but Horner would make a comeback hitting a cross body block but Welch would tuck and roll putting his feet on the ropes thinking he won the match but the ref saw it and allowed the match to continue. Horner then got the O'Connor Roll with the bridge to retain his title but Welch would beat him up with the belt afterwards. Short but fun. Then we would get promos by Welch & Horner. Scott Armstrong vs. Mike Headley (6/23/86) Spotlight match for Scott. Bullet does commentary for this one. Bullet then talks about Tony Anthony, Dutch Mantell, & Kevin Sullivan who are all coming into the area. Exotic Adrian Street vs. Wendell Cooley (6/23/86) Street comes out alone which signals an angle alert. Cooley got the best of Street to start and got a sleeper hold on Street but he would force a break. Cooley would go for it again though but Street would force yet another break. Street suckerpunched Cooley which started his offensive barrage and he really went to work over Cooley before he would make a comeback. After a ref bump, Miss Linda would show up as Cooley tried to suplex Street and she tripped him up forcing Street on top of him for the win. Then we would get promos by Street & Cooley. Next are promos by Steve Armstrong, Rich, & Intern regarding the title situation. "Luscious" Robert Fuller, "Gorgeous" Jimmy Golden, & Dr. Tom Prichard vs. The Eliminator, Tim Harvey, & Al Scott (6/23/86) Squash. This is followed up by promos from the Studs and their rivals. Welch would come back out at the end of the show and reiterated that he doesn't have Horner's belt leading to a brawl at the desk.
