Finally, this feud started to take off in the aftermath of Khan's turn. Choshu bolted in at the bell, and the crowd was hot to see him get his hands on Saito. To his credit, Riki then took an extended beatdown to help build even more sympathy for his cause. Hamaguchi was great after the hot tag, doing little dances and tearing at SSM's mask. But he stayed one-on-one with the bigger guy for too long as Choshu got distracted with Saito on the outside. And SSM put him away with a suplex. Everything in this match carried an extra tinge of nastiness, and the crowd finally seemed excited about the Calgary Hurricanes. I'll give it a low-end nomination and I have high hopes for the coming tags that include Khan.

Animal Hamaguchi & Riki Choshu vs. Hiro Saito & Super Strong Machine, 5/31/86

- I love how they start wrestling with the streamers still in the ring. Gives the match a frantic vibe. I can see them handing Animal his ass but I was surprised how much Choshu gave them. From the beatings before his backdropdriver, the lariat that ripped his head off, the tree of woe. Damn, Hamaguchi is full of energy on the hot tag… vicious elbow drops, tearing Machine’s mask… all good. Ending came out of nowhere but I enjoyed this too much to reject it. I agree with the nomination.

Hiro Saito & Super Strong Machine vs. Animal Hamaguchi & Riki Choshu (5/31/86)

This was a total sprint with everyone bringing the aggression starting off with Choshu's Army working over the Hurricanes but it was Choshu not Animal who would work FIP. The Hurricanes really worked over Choshu who ate a lot of offense here which was unusual for him at the time so that makes it even better. Hamaguchi comes in like a house of fire just bringing the aggression and immediately goes for Machine's mask before bringing Choshu back in who would send Saito to the floor with a lariat. They brawled on the floor as Machine recovered and took down Hamaguchi with the Devil Windmill suplex and the Hurricanes get a big win. This was a blast and a fairly easy nomination.
