Posted June 22, 201015 yr comment_5452230 DVD #15 July10:Applause city Hiraka wide area gymnasium (aired 7/19/86) Asia・tag/Takashi Ishikawa/MIGHTY INOUE vs. Goro Tsurumi/Ashura Hara - Tsurumi got off more offense than usual against the smaller Inoue. But then Ishikawa popped in and distracted him enough that Inoue was able to hit a couple of moves and get the pin. Nothing special here. Tenryu/JUMBO TSURUTA vs. SUPER STRONG MACHINE/KILLER KHAN - It seemed like a waste of Khan and SSM's newfound heat to put them in with a non-Choshu team. Khan and SSM spent much of the match pummeling on Tenryu. Jumbo got to clean house a bit after taking the hot tag. But then Khan and SSM turned to cheating, using their bullrope to choke Tenryu and taking out Jumbo with a spike piledriver on the floor. I suppose the segment did more to establish the new faction as an out-of-control force. But I wouldn't include it in our theoretical extras package on the Choshu-Khan feud. Yatsu/ HAMAGUCHI/ Choshu vs. PETE ROBERTS/ DIBIASE/STAN HANSEN - Choshu-Hansen was the obvious marquee match-up, and they delivered very little of it. Choshu's crew isolated Roberts and did their typical double-team stuff. I liked Hansen saving his partner by throwing a brutal kick to Yatsu's stomach. But then we got the typical six-man ending with everbody flying out of the ring and brawling to the countout. No vote. July19:Shimabara city gymnasium (aired 7/26) The Great Kabuki vs. Motoshi Okuma - Just a clip of Kabuki finishing Okuma. Jr.Heavyweight王座決定トーナメント・1回戦/Hiro Saito vs. Pete Roberts - Reviewed on Classics. Yatsu/Isamu Teranishi/ Choshu vs. Shunji Takano/Super Strong Machine/Killer Khan - The Khan team started out mauling Choshu but overall, this felt a little subdued considering the attacks and brawls from the previous few weeks. It picked up with the usual wild scrum at the end, and Khan managed to catch Teranishi with a knee off the top to get the win. The match didn't add much to the Choshu-Khan build. Genichiro Tenryu/JUMBO TSURUTA vs. TED DIBIASE/STAN HANSEN - Reviewed on Classics.
