Posted July 1, 201015 yr comment_5452630 DVD #21 October ：Korakuen Hall (aired 10/4/86) Genichiro Tenryu/JUMBO TSURUTA vs. PAUL DIAMOND/TIGER JEET SINGH - Diamond and Singh made a weird team. Diamond was an athletic guy who produced some nifty sequences with Tenryu. And then Singh came in for his usual choking and lying around. Tenryu and Singh ended up spilling outside, and Jumbo finished Diamond with one big lariat. ANIMAL HAMAGUCHI/Riki Choshu vs. THE RUSSIANS - Basically, Choshu held his own with Russians and then Kruschev beat Hamauchi casually with a power slam. October ：Marugame citizen gymnasium (aired 10/11/86) Yoshiaki Yatsu/Riki Choshu vs. PAUL DIAMOND/TIGER JEET SINGH - Singh spent most of the match trying to throw some large object at Yatsu. Then Choshu beat Diamond out of nowhere with a lariat. SAMSON FUYUKI/Genichiro Tenryu vs. THE RUSSIANS - Similar to the other Russians tag as they couldn't do much with Tenryu but then polished off Fuyuki pretty casually. October21：Tokyo Ryogoku Kokukigan Sumo Hall (aired 10/25/86) NWAInternational・Heavyweight／Stan Hansen vs. Jumbo Tsuruta - This was the match we had listed as 9/9/86 on Classics. Watched it again and it was definitely their masterpiece. PWFHeavyweight／Riki Choshu vs. Terry Funk - Funk worked cowardly heel early, letting Choshu slap him around in the ring and taking long breaks outside. Funk finally got in some offense and tossed Choshu over the guardrail. A frustrated Choshu then tossed his PWF belt at Funk, who happily took it and posed with it at ringside. Funk bladed off of a whip into the ringpost and Choshu followed by working over the cut with punches. Terry did his usual great transition from wobbly selling to firing off jabs and headbutts. I was digging the match but it ended more abruptly than I would've liked. Choshu put Terry in the scorpion and Dory helped him to the ropes twice before jumping in the ring and attacking Choshu for the DQ. I guess this set up the Funks for matches with Choshu and Yatsu. I'm going to toss it on the block because it's a cool match-up and they did some fun stuff. But I'm thinking this might end up as an extra rather than a voting match.
