Posted January 17, 200818 yr comment_5427236 Buddy Rose vs. Chris Adams (2/3 falls) (23:38) - By this point, it is getting redundant but Buddy Rose is so frigging great. Pay attention to the slap exhange and how well Buddy plays up the whole thing. Seriously, watch him as Adams is working on an arm wrench and watch Buddy selling and his facial expressions and his mannerisms. He makes the most basic shit look painful or high-end. Adams ends up taking the first fall after a superkick and a tombstone piledriver. Adams slows it down in the 2nd fall, working a headlock. This makes perfect sense after pounding Buddy's neck with the piledriver. Buddy eventually takes control but after a whip to the corner, an Adams cross-body is reversed into a pin for Buddy. The third fall is full of near falls and missed opportunities. This is the best fall by far with the crowd worked into a frenzy. Rose ends up winning the match by countout after Admas hit a pescado but Rose made it into the ring first becasue Adams injured his leg. A definite nomination. (Lynch Portland Vol. 8.2)
July 23, 201015 yr comment_5453476 This was real good stuff. Rose is a studd worker and Adams is great also. Will hit all the key points in this bout. Some other cool stuff was how Rose did a nip up to start the bout, then Adams does one of his amazing front flips. I also dug Rose's cart wheel escapes. Had a very WOS feel to it. I liked the finishes to the 1st 2 falls. The 3rd one made sense but the crowd went crazy for Adam's dive, but then he gets counted out. This just sucked the air out from the crowd. Overall some great stuff.
April 1, 201115 yr comment_5468797 Rose is a this douchey best earlier, doing push ups, cartwheeling away from a monkey flip and celebrating, slapping Adams, jawing with fans, just all the staples of his greatness. Rose does the cartwheel bit again and takes a slap of his own for a great revenge spot and Adams takes over on the arm. Rose backs into a corner and takes back over and it is done so organically it is really impressive. Nice reversal and a super kick! Tombstone on Rose! Awesome ending to the first fall. Second fall sees Adams start with a headlock base. Rose eventually back suplexes out and takes over. Really nice near fall off of a delayed vertical suplex from Buddy. Adams goes for a a reverse crossbody but Rose rolls through a gets a quick equalizing fall. Third fall starts with Buddy being methodical including one of the most deliberate and prickish looking backslides I've ever seen. Seriously he made a backslide look like an expression of egotistical excess. Adams gets a good near fall on a sunset flip and Adams is back up and taking over. Buddy sits up and sits right into a superkick and then takes an awesome delayed flip bump into the rope. Adams went for another superkick but Rose held the ropes and avoided it. They battle for a suplex and Adams wins but only gets a near fall. Double knockdown spot with Rsoe falling on top of Adams for a near fall. Adams blocks an atomic drop attempt and hits one of his own and then a really great looking backward roll for an incredible near fall. Adams follows up with a backslide and small package for two more near falls. Adams goes for a running kick into the corner but Buddy moves and Adams takes a big time bump that the announcers sell as death. Buddy grabs his "injured" leg but ends up taking an enziguri knocking Rose to the floor and Adams ends up following up with a sweet tope. Rose rolls back into the ring with a sign stuck to his back but beats the count and wins the final fall via countout. This was a match that started good and slowly morphed into great.
May 7, 201114 yr comment_5470868 I loved Buddy's cartwheel into a strut in the first fall. It felt like his asshole way of saying, "I may not look as pretty as you but I can wrestle prettier." Then Adams paid it off with that slap after cartwheel redux. The superkick-tombstone combo to end the firstf all was nasty. After a quick equalizer, the third fall turned into a great battle, with a bunch of creative nearfalls that had the crowd going nuts. Both guys took some huge bumps, and I loved Adams busting out the tope. Easy thumbs up for this one.
