Posted February 20, 200818 yr comment_5428289 This seemed to be a couple of weeks where they had a bunch of star v. star match ups. A fun Ricky Morton/Lou Fabiano v. Blackbirds, a redicoulous Freddy/Bill Dundee/Dutch Mantel/Ricky Morton v. Chris Champion/Keith Eric/DWB/Doug Gilbert experation of time match which went to a draw. Best match on the shows I am going to nominate Dustin Rhodes v. Black Bart Pretty basic match but Dustin is really great even at this age, and Bart bumps big for fake Dusty strikes. Big post match beat down with Dustin bleeding like a Rhodes at the end.

May 15, 200817 yr comment_5431290 Michael St. John hosts this first show ugh. The Black Birds & Harold Harris come out for a promo and this is great as they bash Jarrett & Morton. The Black Birds (Brickhouse Brown & Iceman King Parsons) vs. Chris Frazier & Tim Hall (7/15/89) Squash. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Freezer Thompson (7/15/89) Squash. Then we get clips of the Renegade Royale from MSC on 7/10/89 with Bigelow & Lawler being the last two men in the ring. Bigelow basically turns heel on Lawler that night then goes full-blown heel with his promo in the studio. Gossett comes out and pumps up Bigelow before Lawler comes out and tells Bigelow not to align with that fatass with both men trying to convince him to stick with them. Bigelow ends up listening to Gossett and knocks Lawler to the ground. This was good stuff. Next is get clips of Bigelow/Lawler vs. Dutch/MOP from MSC on 7/10/89 featuring MOP & Gossett turning on Dutch after the match for fucking up then getting tarred and feathered. Dutch then comes out for a live promo wearing an awesome shirt vowing revenge on MOP & Gossett. “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes & “Dirty” Dutch Mantell vs. Rooster Cogburn & Doug Gilbert (7/15/89) Squash. “Superstar” Bill Dundee & Nightmare Freddy (Tommy Gilbert) vs. “Dirty White Boy” Tony Anthony & Black Bart (7/15/89) This was a fun sprint as all four men worked hard and as Freddy left running after Ronnie Gossett, Dundee fell prey to the heels that kept dropping legs on him. Calhoun then got hit by one of the legs and called for the DQ. Dustin would run out cleaning house to make the save as Freddy keeps chasing Gossett. The heels then cut a promo promising revenge on Dustin. Fun stuff. Handicap: Wild Side (Chris Champion & Mark Starr) vs. Chris Frazier, Tim Hall, & Freezer Thompson (7/15/89) Squash. Lawler hosts the next show as lead commentator and this is a sign of the future. Marlin comes out and makes Lawler promise to not leave the desk. The Black Birds (Brickhouse Brown & Iceman King Parsons) vs. Lou Fabiano & Ricky Morton (7/22/89) Birds look great here beating on Fabiano then Morton gets in after the hot tag and goes to town on the Birds. Morton is fired up but Harold Harris trips him for the DQ then chases him around the ring leading to him getting his ass kicked by the Birds & Harris until Jeff Jarrett makes the save. Morton then vows to get revenge. Fun stuff. Master of Pain vs. Freezer Thompson (7/22/89) Squash. Dutch then chases MOP & Gossett off after the match. Next we get clips of Lawler/Bigelow from MSC on 7/17/89. This looked awesome. CWA Heavyweight Title: Black Bart © vs. “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes (7/22/89) Dustin starts out strong but Bart then takes it to him pounding him all over the ring then chunked him to the floor so Gossett can get a lick. Bart then throws him on the announce table but Dustin would make a comeback once back in the ring and used his dad’s offense. Dustin would go for a bulldog but Bart would throw him into Calhoun and Bart would bring in the branding iron but Dustin would knock it out. Dustin picked it up but Calhoun stopped him from using it and Bart got powder from Gossett throwing it in Dustin’s face to get the win. Calhoun would reverse the decision for the DQ and Dustin went after Gossett but DWB would jump in and the heels would attack Dustin with the branding iron busting him up good. Dundee would make the save with a steel chair. I liked this but not sure about a nomination so I’m on the fence. Next is a fucking epic promo for Headbanger Ed and yes this is a slam dunk extra. God this is so fucking horrid. 2 out of 3 falls: “Superstar” Bill Dundee, Jeff Jarrett, “Dirty” Dutch Mantell, & Nightmare Freddy (Tommy Gilbert) vs. “Dirty White Boy” Tony Anthony, Chris Champion, Keith Eric, & Doug Gilbert (7/22/89) Keith Eric’s name just screams jobber here and of course he would get pinned in a couple of minutes. The 2nd fall had more action as no one wants to face Freddy so Champion forces a tag to DWB but Freddy would tag out leading to more action with everyone getting involved. There is some really good back and forth action here with everyone looking good and Freddy being over like hell. Freddy would get the hot tag and it would break down with TV time running out. This was very fun.
